Aleksandra Burshteyn

Aleksandra "Sasha" Burshteyn is a skilled Program Manager and Operations Coordinator at the Watson Foundation since October 2017, with expertise in data analysis, stakeholder support, communications, social media management, and event planning. Burshteyn holds an MFA in Poetry from New York University, where involvement as a Goldwater Fellow and Translations Editor for The Washington Square Review enhanced poetry craft and scholarship. Previous freelance work included journalism and photography, with a significant project as a National Geographic Expedition Co-Leader exploring Ukraine's natural wonders and their socio-political context. Burshteyn also won the Thomas J. Watson Fellowship for a year-long project on social and political transitions across several countries. Academic achievements include graduating magna cum laude from Amherst College with a B.A. in English.
