Mustapha Parekh has held a variety of roles throughout their professional career. In 2000, they began their career as a Financial Accountant at Hewlett-Packard. In 2005, they became an Associate at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman. In 2006, they moved to Cooley Godward Kronish LLP, where they maintained a general corporate transactional practice, representing primarily emerging technology companies and investment firms. In 2009, they became Senior Corporate Attorney at Genoptix, A Novartis Company, advising the company and Novartis on a wide variety of legal matters. In 2016, they returned to Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, where they are an attorney in the Corporate & Securities - Technology practice group and they are located in the San Diego and Carmel Valley offices. Mustapha's practice focuses on representing start-up, emerging and public companies in a wide range of transactions and matters throughout the business life cycle. In 2021, they began working as General Counsel at Design Therapeutics.
Mustapha Parekh attended the University of San Diego School of Law from 2001 to 2004, where they obtained a J.D. degree. Prior to that, they obtained a B.S in Business Administration and Financial Management from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. Mustapha also attended Cistercian Preparatory School and Clovis West High School.
