Sebastian Essers

Sebastian Essers is an experienced engineering leader currently serving as the Head of Engineering Electric & Electronic Systems at Deutsche Bahn since September 2023. Previously, Sebastian held multiple leadership roles at Alstom, including Domain Lead for Software and Control and Head of TRAXX TCMS, where achievements included enhancing software architecture expertise, optimizing specifications, and implementing cloud services. Prior to Alstom, Sebastian worked at Bombardier Transportation, overseeing TRAXX TCMS and Legacy & Application Software Development, successfully adapting operations during the transition to remote work and promoting agile methodologies. Earlier in the career, Sebastian gained valuable experience in software and hardware development at VITRONIC Machine Vision. Sebastian holds a degree in Technical Computer Science from the University of Mannheim, obtained in 2006.
