Wasse Jonkhans

Wasse Jonkhans is an accomplished journalist and playwright with extensive experience in various media and educational roles. Currently serving as a journalist and fact-checker at dpa Deutsche Presse-Agentur GmbH since April 2022, Wasse also co-founded Die Weltbühne, focusing on a performance highlighting Carl von Ossietzky's life and warnings against authoritarianism. Previous positions include serving as an international news editor for NATO at Onclusive and reporting on the MH17 criminal case for Радио Свобода. Wasse's background also features teaching Dutch language and literature, creating a library catalog at IISH, and writing for several theater productions. Educational qualifications include a master's in literary criticism from the University of Amsterdam and a master's in International Master's Russian and Eurasian Studies from the European University at St. Petersburg.
