Dr. Birgit Happel

Dr. Birgit Happel is a distinguished professional in the fields of financial social work and education, currently serving as the Owner of Finanzbiografien and Geldbiografien®. With extensive expertise encompassing financial inclusion, wellbeing, and empowerment, Dr. Happel has dedicated a significant portion of the career to training, consulting, and lecturing on financial literacy and equality. In addition to roles in various organizations, Dr. Happel is a postdoctoral researcher at iff Institut für Finanzdienstleistungen e.V. and actively collaborates with the Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Umwelt und Verbraucherschutz for consumer education. Dr. Happel holds a PhD in Sociology from Goethe University Frankfurt, alongside a Master's degree in Sociology, Economics, and Psychology from the same institution, and has a strong foundation in banking from an apprenticeship at Dresdner Bank AG.
