Baiba Vilne

Baiba Vilne serves as the Principal Investigator of the Bioinformatics Lab at Rīga Stradiņš University since December 2019 while simultaneously working as a Bioinformatician at The Institute of Food Safety, Animal Health and Environment BIOR and Deutsches Herzzentrum München since September 2018 and August 2013, respectively. With a focus on integrative multi-omics analysis related to atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease, Baiba Vilne aims to advance precision medicine through the generation of a bio-bank for clinically characterized CAD patients. Additional experience includes serving as CEO of net-OMICS from May 2019 to January 2022 and working as a freelance bioinformatician from March 2018 to May 2019. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Bioinformatics and a Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics from the Technical University of Munich, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology from the University of Latvia.
