John E Myers

John E Myers is a distinguished professor at Bard College at Simon's Rock, specializing in applied music, jazz studies, and world music programs since September 1987. Teaching a wide range of courses including Jazz Ensemble and Interactive Arts, John has extensive experience as a jazz and classical guitar soloist since 1973, performing original compositions and works by renowned masters. Additionally, John has been involved in interactive media and web development since 1996, using various authoring tools. Previous experience includes performing with the Baltimore's Big Band under the direction of Gene Walker, serving as a guitarist for The Synapse Brothers, and teaching at Howard Community College. John holds a Ph.D. in Ethnomusicology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and advanced degrees from Howard University and Towson University.
