Worku Gachou

Worku Gachou serves as the Head of North America Inclusive Impact & Sustainability at Visa since November 2020. Gachou is a member of the Board of Directors for both the Council for Economic Education and Development Gateway: An IREX Venture, as well as a Global Fellow at The Wilson Center and a Term Member at the Council on Foreign Relations. Gachou also contributes as an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University Walsh School of Foreign Service and held the position of Managing Director for Africa at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation from September 2018 to October 2020. Prior experience includes roles as a Policy Advisor at Covington & Burling LLP, a Global Shaper at the World Economic Forum, and various positions in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017. Gachou holds a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts from DePaul University, both in International Relations and Affairs.
