Jessica Rodriguez

Jessica Rodriguez is the current Events Manager at Devex. Jessica has over six years of experience working in international development cooperation, specifically in the areas of monitoring and evaluation, project design and negotiation, and teaching.

Rodriguez began their career as a Teaching Assistant Professor at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), one of the largest and most prestigious universities in Latin America. After a year at UNAM, they transitioned to working as a Consultant in international development cooperation fora for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). In this role, they provided support to UNDP country offices in the design and implementation of their development cooperation programmes and projects.

In 2015, Rodriguez moved to the Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores de México (SRE) – the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs – where they worked as an Advisor to the Executive Director of the Mexican Agency of International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID). In this role, they were responsible for analysing, writing and revising AMEXCID’s international development cooperation projects and support documents for the Executive Director. Jessica was particularly entrusted with those related to Central American migration with an inter-cultural sensibility.

In October 2020, Rodriguez joined UN Women as an Asistente Técnica en Monitoreo y Evaluación – Technical Assistant in Monitoring and Evaluation. In this role, they supported UN Women’s Mexico Country Office in the implementation of its monitoring and evaluation system, as well as in the design and implementation of specific evaluations.

Rodriguez has a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the Universidad Iberoamericana and a Master’s degree in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

The educational career for Jessica Rodriguez includes a MA in Development Studies from the Institute of Development Studies and a Licenciatura en Relaciones Internacionales from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
