Owen Geddes is responsible for the Devicescape Engage proposition, turning Devicescape’s Curated Virtual Network into the world’s largest proximity engagement platform. He has over 25 years’ experience at the forefront of innovation in mobile internet and proximity marketing.
Owen has been instrumental in the development of the proximity marketing sector, working on projects with Google, Weve, Tesco, M&S, Lionsgate, and eOne. He has played a significant role in a number of pioneering developments, including the world’s first scaled deployment of Bluetooth beacons in retail, the creation of the first proximity advertising network, and the first campaigns to use Google’s Nearby Notifications. In 2015 he authored the global digital coupon standards for GSMA and GS1.
Before working in proximity marketing, Owen founded and operated Freerunner; at the time Europe’s largest independent Wi-Fi operator. He was also part of the teams that launched UK public Wi-Fi networks for The Cloud and BT.
