Carla Doolin Paredes, PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of education and development. Carla is currently working as the Deputy Director at DevTech Systems, Inc. Since 2021, they have also served as the Senior Program Manager, overseeing the implementation of two USAID funded programs in Zambia and Latin America and the Caribbean.
Prior to their current role, Carla worked as an Adjunct Professor/Researcher at Florida State University from 2014 to 2021. During this time, they focused on analyzing African policies to improve girls' education, conducted surveys and focus groups with high-level policymakers in Ecuador, and prepared findings reports.

Carla Doolin Paredes, PhD, has an extensive education history. Carla began their academic journey at Colegio SEK Internacional, where they pursued and completed their high school education with a focus on the International Baccalaureate program.
Continuing their studies, Carla attended Universidad San Francisco de Quito in 1998 and 1999, earning a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, with a general focus. Carla then transferred to Goldey-Beacom College from 1999 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
Carla's passion for furthering their knowledge and skills led their to American University, where they pursued a Master of Arts in International Development and graduated in 2006. Later, they attended Florida State University from 2014 to 2019, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Education Policy and Evaluation.
Additionally, Carla has acquired numerous certifications to enhance their expertise. In 2022, they obtained an edX Verified Certificate for Excel for Everyone: Data Management from edX. Carla also received a certification in Design Thinking: From Insights to Viability from Stanford GSB Executive Education in the same year.
