Thomas Mcshane

Tom McShane is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in environmental policy and political strategy. As Principal at Dewey Square Group since October 1993, Tom specializes in intricate political campaigns related to development projects and energy policy, notably securing all permits for the first private infrastructure project crossing Massachusetts Bay without legal challenges. Tom’s leadership is evident as a founding Director and current Chairman of the Legislative Committee at Boston Harbor Island Alliance. Previous roles include Chairman of the Board for the Massachusetts League of Environmental Voters and Undersecretary of Environmental Affairs for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, where Tom managed multiple departments and oversaw comprehensive environmental policies. Tom's career also includes earlier positions in the Executive Office of Energy & Environmental Affairs, where significant legislative measures were accomplished, such as the creation of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority. Tom’s educational background includes a B.A. in Management from UMass Boston.
