Malaka Watson, Esq. serves as Lead Legal Counsel at Dexcom since April 2022, bringing extensive legal expertise from previous roles including Owner, CEO, and Chief Creative Officer at Scales of Style Lifestyle Publication since 2016. Malaka's experience includes serving as Senior Counsel at HCA Healthcare, where guidance was provided on substantial managed care agreements, and as Corporate Counsel at HealthTrust Purchasing Group, overseeing complex vendor agreements and data privacy matters. Prior roles include Senior Assistant General Counsel & Chief Procurement Officer at the Tennessee Department of Health, effectively advising on healthcare laws and program contracts, and Legal Analyst at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, where general corporate matters and compliance were managed. Malaka earned a Doctor of Law (JD) from the University of Tennessee College of Law and a Bachelor of Science (BS) from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
