Finn Plekkenpol

Finn Plekkenpol is an experienced professional in international relations and risk analysis, currently serving as Desk Officer for the Middle East at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ireland since April 2019. Previously, Finn held the position of Deputy Head of Mission and Consul at the Embassy of Ireland in Lisbon, with accreditation to Portugal and several African nations. Finn's background includes roles at Airbnb as an Associate Project Manager and Fraud & Risk Analyst in Trust Operations, focusing on safety and fraud prevention within the community. Early career experiences include serving as a Research Assistant at the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and as an Intelligence Analyst Intern at AKE, providing political and security risk assessments. Finn holds a Master’s degree in Globalisation and Latin American Development from UCL and a Bachelor’s degree in European Studies from Trinity College Dublin, complemented by an ERASMUS exchange year at Universidad de Salamanca.
