Kamil Skalski

Senior Software Engineer at DFlow

Kamil Skalski has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and technology. Kamil has worked as a Senior Software Engineer at DFlow since 2022. Prior to that, Kamil founded and served as the CTO of a company called Elector.pro, where they built the technology stack for managing data and voting using custom-built mobile devices. Kamil also worked on transitioning the UI to web-based technologies and added a web server and web interface to the system.

Kamil has also worked as a Software Engineering Consultant at Shareablee, Inc, where they designed and implemented a pipeline version for storing social media mention data points. Kamil evaluated the performance of the serving system backed by Druid for the company's business analysis service.

In addition, Kamil worked at DATAX Sp. z o.o. as a Senior Software Engineer, where they developed a big-data pipeline using Spark and Cassandra. Kamil optimized queries and designed parts of the schema for a time-series serving system.

Kamil's experience also includes working at Google as a Staff Software Engineer and Tech Lead, where they scaled the web search index serving system and contributed data structure and performance optimizations. Kamil also rebuilt and maintained a pipeline for timely updates of the index and its sharding correction data.

Earlier in their career, Kamil worked as a Manager of the configuration team at Axit Polska, where they managed the team's work and designed tools and processes for optimizing application data management. Kamil also worked as a Programmer at Axit Polska and as a Co-creator of the programming language Nemerle at the University of Wroclaw.

Kamil's first experience in the software industry was as a Programmer at the University of Paderborn, where they implemented a multi-threaded, agent-based application for creating time tables using C++.

Kamil Skalski started their education in 2000 at the University of Wroclaw, where they completed their MSc in Computer Science in 2005. In 2003, they also briefly attended Paderborn University, focusing on Computer Science.
