Project Leader Data Science and Data Protection Officer at Diabetes Center Berne

Martina Rothenbühler has a diverse work experience, with their most recent position being at the Diabetes Center Berne since 2021. Martina serves as the Project Leader for Data Science and also holds the role of Data Protection Officer. Prior to that, they worked at Ava Women from 2018 to 2021, where they held various positions including Director of Clinical Development and Principal Statistician, Associate Director of Clinical Development, and Clinical Data Scientist. Martina also worked as a Senior Statistician at Insel Gruppe from 2018 to 2019. Before that, they worked at the University of Bern and the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine and Clinical Trials Unit from 2013 to 2018, serving as a Statistician and later as a Senior Statistician. Martina also worked as a Statistician at CHUV | Lausanne university hospital | IUMSP from 2013 to 2014. Martina began their career at FORS - Swiss Centre of Expertise in the Social Sciences as a Statistician and Researcher from 2010 to 2013. Martina's early work experience includes being a Student Research Assistant at the University of Zurich from 2008 to 2010, and a Social Worker at Berufs-, Studien- und Laufbahnberatung Kanton Bern from 2008 to 2009, as well as at Inselspital Bern from 2006 to 2009.

Martina Rothenbühler has a diverse education history. Martina holds a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Data Protection Officer (DPO-HSG) obtained from the Universität St.Gallen (HSG), Executive School, Law & Management, which they completed in 2023. Prior to this, they pursued another CAS program, specializing in Regulatory Affairs in Life Sciences, at the Berner Fachhochschule BFH from 2021 to 2022.

In terms of higher education, Martina earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biomedical Sciences with a focus on Biostatistics from the University of Bern between 2015 and 2018. Before their PhD, they completed a Master of Science (MSc) program in Statistics at the Université de Neuchâtel from 2009 to 2012. Additionally, they obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Sociology from the same university, which they completed between 2008 and 2012.

Martina's undergraduate education began with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Sociology, achieved at the University of Bern from 2004 to 2008. Finally, they pursued a Diploma program in Social Work at the Berner Fachhochschule BFH from 2002 to 2006.
