Timothy Poon

Timothy Poon is a Data Analysis Scientist at Diamond Light Source, specializing in the Imaging and Data Analysis Group since March 2020. Timothy collaborates between beamline scientists and software engineers to create innovative solutions for complex analytical challenges, focusing on developing analysis pipelines and scientific software across various imaging modalities. Prior experience includes serving as a Teaching Associate and International Student Ambassador at the University of Birmingham, where Timothy engaged in teaching and organizing career workshops for international students. Earlier roles involved teaching Chinese at The Birmingham Chinese School and conducting research as a Junior Research Assistant at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, contributing to advancements in fuel cell applications and synthesizing functionalized materials. Timothy holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Birmingham and both an MPhil and a BEng in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
