Ellis Breen has held various roles in the software engineering and research and development fields since 1999. Ellis began their career as a Research Assistant at Segmentis in 1999. In 2002, they joined Nuance Communications as a Research Assistant, where they worked on custom TTS voices for the Nuance Vocalizer product. From 2006 to 2012, Breen worked as a Software Engineer at Aculab, where they designed and developed a test suite for a C# API library and implemented a counterpart Java API library. From 2012 to 2017, they were a Senior Software Engineer at Couchbase, where they enhanced, maintained, and supported the Couchbase Python SDK. Breen is currently a Senior Software Engineer at Push Technology Limited, beginning in 2021.
Ellis Breen attended Norwich School from 1988 to 1994. Ellis then went on to study at the University of East Anglia, graduating with a BSc Hons in Applied Computing in 2000. In 2010, they attended a1lab for a short period of time.
