Leena Soininen began their work experience in 1999 as a Clinical Teacher at the University of Helsinki. From 2000 to 2007, they worked as an Attending Physician at the Helsinki University Central Hospital. In 2008, they became a Chief Physician at the same hospital, also taking on the role of Director/Chief Physician of the Intensive Care Unit from 2012 to 2016. In 2017, they joined the Acute Remote Services in HUS as a Chief Physician, continuing this role until 2020. During this time, they also served as the Director of the Poison Information Center & Päivystysapu-hanke from 2017 to 2020. In 2020, Leena Soininen took on the position of Chief Medical Officer at DigiFinland Oy.
Leena Soininen has a diverse education history with a focus in the field of medicine. Leena obtained their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the University of Helsinki, graduating in the year 1990. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Medicine Anesthesiology, completing their studies at the same university in 2007.
In 2009, Leena Soininen received the European Diploma of Intensive Care (EDIC) certification from the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM). Leena also holds the Specialist in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care certification from the University of Helsinki.
Leena Soininen further expanded their educational background by obtaining a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from Aalto University Executive Education Ltd in the year 2016. Additionally, they hold the Aalto Executive MBA certification from the same institution.
It is worth noting that Leena Soininen studied Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at the University of Tampere from an unknown start year until 2012.
