John Haeme has extensive work experience in the aviation industry, with a focus on project management and training. John began their career at the 32nd Air Refueling Squadron, where they served as a Senior Airman and specialized in avionic and guidance systems. From there, they moved on to the 1-4 AVN, where they worked as an Aircraft Survivability Equipment/Electronic Warfare Officer.
In 1998, John joined B/1-6 CAV as an Instructor Pilot before transitioning to A/D Company, 1-14th AVN REG in 2000. While there, they held various positions, including Instructor Pilot Course SP, Section Leader, D/1-14th AVN Master Gunner, and AH-64 Instructor Pilot Course Standardization Instructor Pilot. John was responsible for instructing and managing flight simulator training scenarios, along with coordinating airfields, ammunition, and student management.
In 2005, John joined B/1-82nd ARB as a Maintenance Test Pilot/BN Quality Control OIC. John oversaw maintenance systems and personnel for 24 aircraft, ensuring the quality of work performed. During this time, they also carried out maintenance operational checks and verified the airworthiness of aircraft after maintenance was conducted.
From 2007 to 2013, John served as a BN/TF Standardization Instructor Pilot for 1st ARB, 82nd CAB. John was also assigned as C/1-82nd ARB SP, where they performed pilot duties.
John's next role was Master Gunner at 101 Combat Aviation Brigade in 2013, where they oversaw multiple gunnery programs and ensured the safe use of resources during live fire range operations.
In 2014, John joined 101 CAB as a Brigade Standardization Instructor Pilot. In this position, they provided executive oversight for over 300 air crew members and updated aircrew standard operating procedures and tactical operating procedures. John also acted as an advisor to senior leaders and a mentor to junior officers.
In 2016, John joined the Apache Attack Helicopter Project Office as an Operator Training Manager and Government Flight Representative. John was responsible for coordinating and conducting various training programs for the AH-64 E Aircraft Series.
Most recently, John has been working at DigiFlight, Inc. since 2019. John serves as a Project Manager and supports the Project Office for Apache Attack Helicopter's New Equipment Training Teams, both for the U.S. Army and foreign military customers.
Throughout their career, John has consistently demonstrated their expertise in aviation, leadership, and project management.
John Haeme completed their education in a chronological order. John first attended Old Dominion University from 1987 to 1991, majoring in Electrical, Electronic and Communications Engineering Technology/Technician, but did not receive a degree. John then pursued an Associates Professional Aviation from Louisiana Tech University from 1992 to 1994. Later, from 2009 to 2012, they attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics with a minor in Management. Most recently, from 2020 to 2021, they attended Colorado Technical University and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Project Management.
