he company is founded and led by Dr Jim Li who attained a PhD from Cambridge University, UK and he owns over 40 granted patents in the field of advanced technology deployment to electronic devices and manufacturing processes. He worked as a R&D engineer at a large US instrument company before starting his own company in 1993, initially focusing on manufacturing of electronic modules for large Japanese multinational corporations.
In 2009, Jim pioneered the world-1st Digi-Pas® intelligent Dual-axis Precision Digital Levelling Instruments embedded with high-precision MEMS sensor technology which greatly contributed to precision engineering industries, as these instruments are evidently used by some of the world’s most technologically advanced companies, research laboratories and government institutions such as NASA, Airbus, Space-X, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, Intel, Mitsubishi, TESLA, Honda, DMG Mori, Mazak, Makino, BMW, Siemens, US Naval Research Lab., Sandia National Lab., Cambridge Cavendish Lab. etc.
In 2014, he further pioneered the world-1st eGeeTouch® IoT-enabled Smart Lock utilizing leading-edge Wireless Proximity-access and Cloud-based Remote-authorization Security Technologies. In addition to having granted with over a dozen patents in this field of invention, these smart locking devices subsequently winning Innovation Awards from the world's largest Consumer Electronics Show, CES 2015 and 2016. These locking devices have also won New Product Award at Japan's largest DIY-Homecenter Tradeshow for three successive years in 2014, 2015 & 2016 and Germany's RedDot Design Award in 2017.
In early 2020 during pandemic, under Jim's leadership, he swiftly reconfigured part of his R&D, Supply Chain, Manufacturing capabilities to rapidly develop, file patents, manufacture a new eGeePro® N-95 Reusable Respirator, and thereafter, get tested and certified by accredited 3rd-party international test bodies to timely launch the mask in many countries. Subsequently, eGeePro® Respiratory Mask was awarded by Singapore Intellectual Property agency (IPOS) on Innovation for Humanity Award 2020.
Dr Li published numerous papers in the area of new product innovation strategy and manufacturing technology at leading international journals. Two of his papers were cited in a whitepaper published in 2014 by a governmental unit under Japan's Ministry for Economics, Trade and Industry (METI) on policy guiding Japanese promising SMEs to independently innovate and internationalize. In 2009 Dr. Li was invited by Singapore's Ministry for Trade & Industry as a resource panel member for the Government’s Economic Strategies Committee (ESC). Presently, he is a visiting Research Fellow at the Institute for Manufacturing, Cambridge University, UK and he is also an Honorary Professor at Nottingham University Business School, UK.
Jim's entrepreneurial endeavor has led to the founding of DIGIPAS with its affiliated companies (known as Digipas Group) located at several strategic geographical regions. He brought with him over 20 years of experience in management and technical expertise.
