Maggie Oneill

Maggie ONeill is a prominent academic in the fields of sociology and criminology, currently serving as a Professor in Sociology & Criminology at the Department of Sociology & Criminology at University College Cork since November 2018. ONeill holds esteemed positions as a Member of the Royal Irish Academy and a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences (AcSS) since May 2023 and June 2021, respectively. Previous roles include Chair in Sociology and Criminology at the University of York and Professor in Criminology at Durham University, where ONeill also served as Principal of Ustinov College.
