Derek Harper

Derek Harper has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Derek began their career as a New Media intern at the Philadelphia 76ers and steadily worked their way up to become the New Media Manager. In 2007, Derek started working as a Front End Web Developer/Designer at North American Membership Group. Derek then transitioned to freelancing as a Web Developer at their own company, Derek Harper Design, before joining Digital River in 2011. At Digital River, Derek held several leadership roles, including Director of Engineering and Sr. Software Engineering Manager. In these positions, they managed multiple teams, developed UI applications, created technical roadmaps, and led the development of innovative products. Derek's technical expertise includes using Node.js and React.js to build API-based applications.

Derek Harper earned a B.A. in Broadcasting and Electronic Media and Bible from the University of Northwestern — St. Paul, where they studied from 2002 to 2005. From 2013 to 2016, they furthered their education by taking specific graduate level courses in Software Management at the University of St. Thomas.
