Alvaro Pardo is a co-founder of Digital Sense, a company specializing in signal processing, multimedia, machine vision, and applied mathematics. Alvaro has been with the company since 2008. Prior to that, they were a full professor at the Universidad Católica del Uruguay, starting in 2004. In 2012, they became the Dean of the School of Engineering and Technologies at the same university, a position they held until 2018. Alvaro is currently a visiting professor at Universidad Loyola and a board member at ANII since 2020. From 2016 to 2018, they were a co-founder of FinIT - Uruguay. In 1997, they were a professor at the Universidad de la República until 2006.
Alvaro Pardo completed their Bachelor of Arts in Electrical Engineering from Universidad de la República in the years 1993-1998. Alvaro then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering from the same university, which they completed in the years 1999-2003.
