Dipanwita Pati is a Senior Research Scientist at Dignify Therapeutics since October 2023 and has been a Research Associate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine since February 2021. In the current role, Dipanwita trains and mentors new electrophysiologists and leads projects focused on dopamine signaling in the periaqueductal gray related to pain, reward-seeking, and negative affective behaviors. Prior experience includes serving as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from February 2016 to February 2021, where Dipanwita studied the extended amygdala and neuropeptides in relation to reward-seeking, stress, and anxiety-related behaviors. Earlier, Dipanwita completed postdoctoral work and a Graduate Research Assistantship at the University of Florida from August 2010 to February 2016 and was a Project Trainee at Biocon in early 2010. Dipanwita holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Florida, an M Pharm in Pharmaceutics from BIRLA Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani, and a B Pharm from Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
