Jochen Richter

Jochen Richter is a member of the Diplomatic Council since June 2023 and serves as a lecturer at the University of Düsseldorf and the University of Luxembourg, as well as an external fellow at the Robert Schuman Institute. Previously, Jochen Richter held various significant roles at the European Parliament from March 2010 to December 2020, including Director of the Directorate for Support and Technological Services for Translation and Acting Director with responsibilities in performance statistics and interinstitutional relations. Prior experience includes serving as Deputy Head of Cabinet for Commissioner Leonard Orban at the European Commission and roles at the European Parliament focusing on the internal market and the Lisbon process. Jochen Richter began a career in public administration after obtaining education from Schlossgymnasium Düsseldorf Benrath, Fachhochschule für öffentliche Verwaltung, and The University of Bonn.
