Karthigeyan Vaidyanathan

Karthigeyan Vaidyanathan has a diverse range of work experience in the technology industry. Karthigeyan currently serves as the Director - Site Manager and Product Owner - Consumer Electronics & Streaming at Dirac, starting in 2022. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing the successful implementation of Dirac solutions on mobiles, laptops/PCs, as well as managing the Dirac Bengaluru team and the day-to-day operations of the company.

Before joining Dirac, Karthigeyan worked at LeadSoc Technologies Pvt Ltd from 2020 to 2021, where they held the position of Director - DSP Software Engineering Services. During their tenure, they played a key role in growing the DSP Software Engineering Services group and facilitating the migration of DSP baseband functionalities for a Tier 1 customer.

From 2015 to 2020, Karthigeyan was employed at Knowles Intelligent Audio (Audience, Inc). Bangalore as a Senior Manager in the Algorithm Productization Group. Karthigeyan led a team of engineers in bringing audio processing algorithms to life and worked on various algorithms for acoustic echo cancellation, source direction estimation, multi-mic noise suppression, isolated keyword recognition, and automatic speech recognition assist.

Prior to that, Karthigeyan worked at Airvana Networks India (currently Commscope Networks) from 2012 to 2015 as a Principal R&D Engineer, focusing on PHY layer firmware development for femtocells. Karthigeyan also served as a Manager and Project Manager at Transwitch Corporation from 2007 to 2011, where they worked on DSP voip features and managed the DSP system firmware team.

Karthigeyan began their career at Centillium Communications, starting as a Senior Design Engineer in 2004 and later becoming a Staff Engineer. During their time there, they led teams in developing new VoIP features and worked on the design and development of a flexible software architecture for integrating multiple VoIP features.

Karthigeyan also gained experience at Centillium Communications Inc in Fremont, California, from 2000 to 2003 as an Engineer, primarily focusing on the design and development of embedded DSP subsystem software for media gateway SoCs. Additionally, Karthigeyan worked as a DSP Engineer at Lucent Technologies and Encore Software Ltd, where they developed and implemented speech codecs on TI DSP.

Karthigeyan Vaidyanathan completed their B.Sc. in Physics from Loyola College, Chennai, from 1990 to 1993. Karthigeyan then pursued an M. Sc. in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, from 1993 to 1994. Afterward, they attended the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, where they obtained an M. E. (Integrated) degree in Electrical Engineering from 1994 to 1998.

In May 2020, they obtained the "Artificial Intelligence for Project Managers" certification from LinkedIn. Furthermore, they completed the "Managing High Potentials" course from LinkedIn in the same month.
