Diana Maradze, Ph.D. has extensive experience in the field of biotechnology and biological engineering. Diana currently works as a Senior Scientist at Direct Biologics, a role they have held since November 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Research Scientist R&D at Nucleus Biologics from January to October 2022.
From 2019 to 2022, Diana worked as a Scientist at Gifford Bioscience Limited. Here, they focused on various research projects related to biotechnology.
Diana's work experience also includes academic positions. From August 2017 to July 2018, they served as a Research Associate in Biological Engineering at Loughborough University. During their time there, they collaborated with industry partners to develop a hypothermic storage system for stem cell therapies using a hydrogel system. Diana also conducted stem cell characterization using techniques such as flow cytometry and gene expression analysis.
In 2016, Diana was a Visiting Researcher at both the University of Otago and the University of Auckland. At the University of Otago, they played a role in understanding the synthesis of magnesium-based nanoparticles and their impact on osteogenic differentiation of human mesenchymal stem cells. At the University of Auckland, they worked on the isolation of osteoblast and osteoclast cells, as well as the assessment of the immune response of biodegradable implants.
Overall, Diana Maradze, Ph.D. has demonstrated expertise in biotechnology, stem cell research, and biological engineering throughout their career.
Diana Maradze, Ph.D. completed their education with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Bradford, where they studied from 2007 to 2010. Diana then furthered their studies at UCL, where they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Biochemical Engineering from 2010 to 2011. Building on their previous academic achievements, Diana completed their highest level of education at Loughborough University, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Regenerative Medicine from 2012 to 2016.
