Stephen Fitzmaurice has a diverse range of work experience in various roles. Stephen currently works at BCW Global as the Vice President, Direct Impact, where they provide strategic counsel and client management for Fortune 500 companies and national associations. Prior to BCW Global, Stephen worked at Direct Impact in the same role. From 2018 to 2022, they held the position of Director of Public Affairs at the Credit Union National Association, where they directed grassroots storytelling strategies and ensured the organization's reputation on Capitol Hill. Stephen also worked as a Communications Specialist at the American Society of Hematology from 2016 to 2018, coordinating press programs and managing media relationships. Stephen was the Communications and Policy Coordinator at the Hemophilia Federation of America from 2014 to 2016, leading advocacy meetings and providing social media advocacy training. In 2013, Stephen served as the Broadband Policy and Digital Literacy Fellow at the Young Elected Officials Network, drafting tech policy legislation and conducting research. Stephen also has experience in political campaigns, having worked as a Fundraiser and Press Assistant for Bill Nelson for US Senate in 2012. Stephen's earlier experience includes roles in the United States Senate and House of Representatives, where they gained expertise in policy areas and provided legislative research support.
Stephen Fitzmaurice completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, History, and Religion at the University of Florida from 2005 to 2009. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Legislative Affairs at The George Washington University from 2010 to 2012.
