Pete Pete has a long and varied work experience. Pete began their professional career in 1985 as a BS Research Assistant at Peking University, followed by an MSc Researcher at the University of Minnesota Duluth in 1988. From 1989 to 1993, they were a PhD Researcher and X-Ray Lab Coordinator at the University of Minnesota, where they published 10 research papers in J. of Physical Chemistry, Langmuir, etc. In 1993, they joined Unilever as a Principal Engineer, Formulation Scientist and Senior Scientist in their Beauty-Personal Care department. In 1999, they moved to The Dial Corporation as Manager of New Technology & Product Development for the Renuzit Air Care business unit. In 2005, they joined Henkel as a Senior Research Fellow and Director, and was responsible for leading sustainability initiatives in North America. From 2016 to 2018, they were the VP of Product Innovation and Development at TATCHA, where they helped the company redesign its 3-year product innovation pipeline and launch key new products. In 2017, they also served as Managing Partner at New Ventures | Business and Technology Consulting, providing business and technology consulting to local and global clients. In 2018, they co-founded Dirty Labs Inc. with their co-founder David Watkins, with the mission of delivering category-defining products in terms of cleaning efficacy, user safety, and environmental responsibility.
Pete Pete completed their Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Peking University between 1982 and 1986. Pete then obtained their Master of Science in Chemistry from University of Minnesota Duluth in 1988-1989. Finally, they earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering from University of Minnesota in 1989-1993.
