Ben Shanken

Ben Shanken serves as the Vice President of Product at Discord since January 2021, focusing on growth, safety, and developer ecosystems. As an angel investor since January 2019, Ben has supported various B2B SaaS and AI/ML companies, including notable names like Retool and Transform. Prior to Discord, Ben held multiple roles at Lyft from January 2015 to January 2021, culminating in the position of Senior Director of Product and General Manager of the Ad Business, where significant market share was gained against competitors. Earlier experience includes serving as Director of Growth at Answers, which was acquired for $1 billion in 2015. Ben holds a B.A. in Economics and Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis.
