James S. Purdy

Dr. Purdy left his role as a primary care clinician in the mid-2000’s to join MedData, a company he co-founded in 1996.

MedData grew to be the nation’s largest eligibility vendor processing over 100 million transactions annually. MedData was acquired by Transunion in December 2009.

Dr. Purdy then cofounded Cadrillion Capital in 2010 which acquired Legacy Data Access and several other healthcare services entities where he continues in an advisory role. Dr. Purdy and his partners teamed up with Discovery Claims in 2020 providing both growth capital and operational support during this exciting time in Discover Claim’s evolution.

Dr. Purdy received a BS from Davidson College and an MD from the Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
