Chris Tynan

Chris Tynan has a strong background in data and analytics, with experience in various roles across different industries. Chris is currently the Director of Data at DistroKid since June 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the Data Director at Utopia Music from September 2022 to April 2023. Before their role at Utopia Music, Chris was the Lead Data Scientist at both the Competition and Markets Authority from February 2020 to July 2022 and the UK Home Office from April 2019 to January 2020. Chris also worked as the European Product Manager & Quantitative Analyst at KCG Holdings, Inc. from September 2014 to July 2016. Chris gained experience in the music industry as a Senior Analyst & Team Lead at Spotify from November 2011 to July 2014. Additionally, they worked briefly as a Datakind Ambassador at DataKind in 2013. Chris's career started at UBS Investment Bank, where they served as an Associate Director - Algorithm Trading Quant from September 2008 to November 2011.

Chris Tynan completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge from 2004 to 2007. Chris then pursued further education at the University of Cambridge, completing Part III in Mathematics from 2007 to 2008. Most recently, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Machine Learning from UCL from 2017 to 2018.
