Tim Tautges is a highly experienced professional in geometry and meshing, currently serving as Senior Manager and Technical Fellow at Divergent since August 2021. Tautges also holds the position of Adjunct Professor in Engineering Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, advising graduate students on related research. Prior roles include distinguished engineer at SimScale, Inc., senior manager at Siemens PLM Software, and manager at CD-adapco, overseeing user-driven mesh generation capabilities. Tautges has extensive experience in computational science from positions at Argonne National Laboratory and Sandia National Laboratories, where leadership in geometry and mesh generation research and development was a focus. Tautges began academic pursuits with a PhD in Nuclear Engineering and Engineering Physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earned between 1982 and 1990, and has contributed to research in parallel computing during a stint as a visiting scientist in Italy.
