James Wood has had a scientific career, starting in 2011 as a PHD Student at the University of Southampton. James then joined DNA Electronics (DNAe) in 2015 as a Scientist, where they worked on the development of a microchip-based detection system for bloodstream infections. James later became a Scientist II, where they gained experience in immobilizing oligonucleotides on surfaces and exposure to DNA sequencing. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Scientist at DNAe.
James Wood attended Colston's School from 2000 to 2007, where they studied Chemistry, Physics, Maths, and History. James then went on to the University of Southampton from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Chemistry. Following this, James pursued further education at the University of Southampton from 2011 to 2015 and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry.
