Mazen Alsafi is a multifaceted professional with extensive experience in community engagement, research, and the creative sector. As Co-Director of Northside Futures in Syracuse, NY, Mazen focuses on community-led public health initiatives and grassroots resource development. Concurrently, Mazen serves as a researcher for the Columbia University Action Lab's Action for Black Lives Initiative, addressing anti-Black racism within the institution. Additionally, Mazen leads the Operating Committee for the Columbia Organization of Rising Entrepreneurs, fostering a supportive network for aspiring entrepreneurs. Volunteer work includes mentoring first-generation low-income high school students at the Northside Learning Center. As the founder of Abolish, Mazen promotes underrepresented creatives through art and history. Mazen's modeling career spans multiple agencies, and previous research involvement includes a recent internship with the Vera Institute of Justice. Mazen holds a degree in Sociology and African American Studies from Columbia University.
