Marissa Dake has a diverse work experience that spans different industries. Marissa started their career as a Congressional Intern at the United States Senate, where they attended meetings and briefings for legislative staff and served as a point of contact for office guests and constituents. Following their internship, they worked as a Policy and Communications Coordinator at Michael Torrey Associates LLC, a government relations and strategic communications firm, where they covered various events and meetings on behalf of lobbyists and clients. Marissa then joined Operation Food Secure as a Director, implementing initiatives to address food insecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, Marissa is working at DNO Produce as the Vice President of Brand and People, where they are responsible for promoting healthy produce and managing the company's communications and public affairs.
Marissa Dake attended Washburn University from 2013 to 2017, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with magna cum laude honors. Marissa'sfield of study was Corporate Communications, with a minor in Leadership Studies. In addition to their formal education, Marissa also has several certifications. In July 2021, they received Mental Health First Aid certification from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. In June 2021, they obtained Adult CPR certification from the American Red Cross, Basic Forklift Operator Training from the Topeka Rescue Mission, and Trust-Based Relational Intervention Training (7 Hours) from Show Hope.
