Jeremy H. Gottschalk has over 18 years of professional experience in the legal and technology industries. In 2003, they began their career as an Associate Attorney at Schwartz Cooper Chartered (merged into Dykema). After three years, they joined K&L Gates as an Associate Attorney, where they managed relationships with clients ranging from entertainers, entrepreneurs and startups to multinational corporations. In 2010, they became General Counsel for Sittercity Incorporated (acquired by Bright Horizons NYSE: BFAM), where they were responsible for all aspects of risk management, including comprehensive insurance program design, trust & safety efforts, and all legal, compliance and regulatory matters. In 2014, they founded and became CEO of Marketplace Risk, a platform offering conferences and summits, a vibrant and engaged community, virtual programming, podcasts, blogs, risk management consulting and legal services. In 2018, they became Founding Executive Director of the Marketplace Industry Association, an organization representing, educating and advocating for the benefit of the marketplace startup ecosystem. Jeremy H. also took on roles as President of the Board of Directors for Raw Materials Men's Skincare, Director of the Board of Directors for DocSpace, and Adjunct Professor of Law at Chicago Kent College of Law, where they taught an intellectual property and technology licensing class. In 2022, they became a Member of the Trust & Safety Professional Association.
Jeremy H. Gottschalk obtained a Bachelor of Arts, Magna Cum Laude, in Spanish Literature and Languages and Criminology and Law Studies from Marquette University between 1997 and 2001. Jeremy H. then attended Loyola University Chicago School of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctor in Intellectual Property Law in 2004. In 2015, they completed their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management.
