Pierre Martin

Pierre Martin has a diverse and extensive work experience across various industries. Pierre currently works as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Gavel. Previously, they held leadership roles at Flexe, where they served as the VP of Software Engineering & Product, and at Beacon, where they held the positions of Senior Advisor and Chief Technology Officer. At Amazon, Pierre was the Head of Engineering for Live @ Prime Video, the Sr Manager of Software Development for Transportation Technology, and a Principal in Technical Product Management. Pierre has also worked as an Investor & Advisor for Cronycle and Right Relevance, Inc. Prior to that, Pierre worked at Microsoft Corporation as a Senior Tech Product Manager, contributing to Xbox Cloud Gaming and Microsoft Health. Pierre started their career as a Researcher in Computational Nanotechnology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Pierre also gained early industry experience as a Marketing Intern for T-Mobile International and a Research Intern for British Telecom in the field of Optical Fibers R&D.

Pierre Martin holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, which they obtained from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign between 2007 and 2010. Prior to their Ph.D., they completed their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering at CentraleSupélec from 2003 to 2006. Additionally, Pierre earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Entrepreneurial and Enterprise Systems Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2005 to 2007. Pierre also obtained a Certificate in Strategic Technology Management from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2007.
