Veterinary Intern at Dolphin Discovery

Maddy Sampson is currently a Research Assistant in Bacteriology at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, focusing on antimicrobial resistance in significant microbes. Additional responsibilities include analyzing blood plasma and urine samples of bottlenose dolphins for oxytocin immunoassay standardization and studying persistent organic pollutants in the diet of aquarium-based dolphins. Maddy also serves as a Veterinary Intern at Dolphin Discovery, conducting sample collections and analyses. Upcoming roles include Rapporteur for WIDECAST and CTAP Officer for the Saint Kitts Sea Turtle Monitoring Network. Previous experiences include veterinary internships at various marine conservation centers and roles as a Veterinary Technician, alongside research assistant positions at Nova Southeastern University, focusing on ecological studies related to marine life. Maddy holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University and a double major in Marine Biology and Biology from Nova Southeastern University.
