Melissa Greenwald, MD, FAST has a diverse work experience in the medical field.

Melissa is currently serving as the Chief Medical Officer at 34Lives since July 2022. Prior to this, they held the role of Medical Director at DiscGenics starting from February 2022.

Before their current positions, Melissa worked as a Medical, Regulatory, and Strategy Consultant at MA Greenwald Consulting from March 2018. Melissa also served as a Scientific Advisor at Eurofins Donor & Product Testing from July 2017.

From August 2018, Melissa held the position of Medical Director - Laboratory Director at Donor Alliance. While working there, they concurrently served as a Regulatory Medical Director at California Cryobank LLC from December 2017 until April 2020.

Melissa also has experience in the government sector. Melissa served as the Director and Acting Director of the Division of Transplantation at the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSAgov), HHS. Melissa held these positions from October 2015 to February 2018. Before that, they served as a Medical Officer at HRSA from August 2014 to October 2015.

Prior to their roles in the government sector, Melissa worked at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). At FDA, they held the position of Chief, Human Tissue and Reproduction Branch within the Division of Human Tissues, Office of Cellular Tissue and Gene Therapies. Melissa worked there from March 2010 to August 2014 and also served as a Medical Officer from August 2000 to March 2010.

Additionally, Melissa has experience as a Chief Medical Officer at Peripheral Therapeutics from February 2021 to January 2022 and as a Medical Consultant at MJB and Associates from October 2015 to December 2021.

Melissa Greenwald, MD, FAST pursued their education in a sequential manner. Melissa began their educational journey at Roane State Community College from 1988 to 1990, where they earned an Associate of Science degree in Environmental Health. Following this, from 1990 to 1993, they attended East Tennessee State University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health. Lastly, Melissa completed their medical education at Uniformed Services University from 1993 to 1997, where they earned the distinguished title of Doctor of Medicine (MD) in the field of Medicine.
