Doug Durham has had a long and varied career. Doug began their professional life in 1989 as a Major in the Missouri Air National Guard, serving for over fifteen years and performing US Air Force duties of a civil engineer in a variety of roles, including five months in Afghanistan as a design engineer in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2005. In 1997, they worked as a Software Engineer for Valmont Industries, where they served as an Oracle Database Administrator and Application Developer and played a key role in the implementation of the division's Y2K systems. In 1998, they joined MindVision/eSellerate as CTO and Software Engineer/Engineering Manager, leading the engineering design and development of the eSellerate eCommerce platform. In 2006, they became eSellerate Director of Technology at Digital River. In 2007, they co-founded Branchnext. From 2009 to 2010, they worked as Senior Director of CDN Engineering at Internap, where they were responsible for architecting, developing and deploying advances in CDN technology, services, and products. In 2010, they became Principal and CTO of Nebraska Global and also co-founded Don't Panic Labs, where they served as both CEO and CTO. In 2013, they became Adjunct Associate Professor at the Raikes School of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. In 2018, they began working as Online Adjunct Faculty at Nebraska Methodist College.
Doug Durham obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1988. Doug then went on to earn a Master of Science in Finance and Management from Webster University in 1995. In 2010, they obtained a Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD): ASP.NET Developer 3.5 certification.
