Peter Corke is a distinguished professor emeritus at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), specializing in robotic vision with a focus on areas such as robotic text reading, light field imaging, and deep learnt control networks. Since January 2010, Peter has contributed to academia through teaching and research and is actively involved in the QUT Centre for Robotics as a founding director. Current roles include robotics advisor at LYRO Robotics, technical advisor at Emesent, and chair of the Robotics Council for the Robotics Australia Group. Additionally, Peter holds positions as adjunct science fellow at CSIRO's Data61 and director of Robotic Vision Australia, where efforts are directed towards advancing robotics, vision, and AI technologies in Australia. Peter has a rich educational background with a PhD in Engineering, as well as degrees in Electrical Engineering, all obtained from the University of Melbourne.
