Fresh out of high school in 1984, Jeffrey worked at a small realty company, operating, maintaining, and modifying a BASIC payroll, accounting and reporting system and writing an interoffice electronic mail system. This led to a programming and system security job at Professional Press, a company that produces computer magazines. On a brief break from studying computer science in 1989, I took a temporary job working with the very small computer network at Dechert, Price and Rhoads, an international law firm. That temporary job ended up lasting more than eight years, during which I was responsible for the creation and support of a firm-wide computer network and, at times, running the PC Services department as well. In 1997, I founded Dorset Connects with Robert Sparre and am looking forward to our continued success. Over the course of my career, I have been active in various technology communities. I have served as an officer in the Northern Telecom LanStar Users Group, have been a team leader and speaker for volunteer-run Association of Banyan Users International conferences, have created and shared network testing and maintenance utilities in the Banyan and Microsoft communities, and have volunteered my time to participate in the design of the State of Delaware’s Microsoft Windows network.
