Kenya Elder

Kenya Elder has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Kenya currently works as the Director of Learning at Lead180 Coaching & Consulting, LLC since December 2021. In this role, they provide client support in career development, talent development, and learning transfer.

Prior to this, Kenya was the Executive Director of Teaching & Learning at Douglas County School System from January 2018. Their responsibilities included overseeing and coordinating professional learning for the district and assessing its effectiveness. Kenya also developed training programs for district employees and evaluated the success of professional learning initiatives.

Kenya also served as the Executive Director of Communications at Douglas County School System from October 2021 to January 2023.

Before joining Douglas County School System, Kenya worked at the City of Dallas as a Branch Manager in 2017. Kenya was responsible for managing branch operations.

From May 2016 to December 2016, Kenya worked at the International Center for Leadership in Education, where they served as an ICLE Partnership Executive. Their primary role was to provide content and technology solutions to school districts in South Texas and Oklahoma.

Kenya had roles at the Georgia Department of Education from 2011 to 2016. Kenya worked as an Evaluation System Specialist from August 2013 to June 2016 and as an Education and Research Evaluation Specialist from October 2011 to August 2013. Their responsibilities included monitoring compliance with federal mandates, providing support for program improvement, and evaluating professional learning effectiveness.

At Carrollton City Schools, Kenya worked as a Program Director from June 2010 to November 2011, where they developed and supervised curriculum and programming for academically at-risk students. Kenya also served as a School Library Media Specialist from July 2006 to June 2010, focusing on instructional strategies and technology integration.

Lastly, Kenya worked as a Training Instructor at Yancey Bros. Co. from 1995 to 2002, where they delivered training programs.

Overall, Kenya Elder has a wealth of experience in learning and development, program management, professional learning, and technology solutions in various educational roles.

Kenya Elder completed their education from 2004 to 2009. Kenya started by earning a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Media Specialist from the University of West Georgia, which they completed in 2006. Following that, they pursued a Specialist in Education (EdS) degree in Educational/Instructional Technology at the same university, which they completed in 2008. Lastly, they obtained a degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, specifically an Educational Leadership PL-6 (P-12) degree, in 2009 from the University of West Georgia.

In addition to their formal education, Kenya Elder has obtained various certifications. In 2018, they became a Certified Consultant through Highlands Company's HIGHLANDS ABILITY BATTERY program and also received certification as a Certified Trainer from VitalSmarts. Kenya also obtained an EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP certification from the Georgia Professional Standards Commission in October 2009. Most recently, in July 2020, Kenya Elder became a Google Certified Educator Level 1 through Google.
