Ed Green is a distinguished co-founder of multiple companies including Claret Bioscience and Astrea Forensics, as well as Dovetail Genomics, LLC, and serves as a professor at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where Ed co-directs the UCSC Paleogenomics Institute. Green's academic journey includes a postdoctoral position at the Max-Planck-Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, focusing on ancient DNA and the Neanderthal genome, and a graduate student role at the University of California, Berkeley, researching alternative splicing and RNA surveillance. Green's early career included a research technician position at Emory University and volunteer work with the Peace Corps. Green holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science in Genetics from The University of Georgia.
