Coos Battjes

Coos Battjes is an experienced energy and carbon market specialist currently working at Downing LLP since October 2018, focusing on the hedging strategy for generation assets and corporate PPAs. Battjes previously founded and served as Director at Pollination Energy Ltd until February 2022 and held the position of Managing Director at Solarplicity and AMP Solar Group, where significant contributions to asset management and the development of renewable energy portfolios were made. Experience includes partnership at eRisk Group, with expertise in M&A activities and structured finance, as well as previous roles at Credit Suisse and Nuon, where innovative carbon emission products and CDM deals were structured. Battjes holds a Doctorate in Mathematics and Natural Science and a Master’s in Energy and Environmental Studies from the University of Groningen.
