Richard Owen has a lengthy work history in the power and utilities industry. Richard began their career in 1989 as Power Plant Superintendent at the City of Brady, TX. In 1993, they moved to Cooper Energy Services as a Maintenance & Operations Instructor. Richard then transitioned to UNC Industrial Power in 1997 as a Project Engineer. In 1998, they took on the role of Operations Manager at Dresser-Rand. Richard then moved to Stewart & Stevenson in 2000 as a Gas Turbine Instructor. From 2002 to 2007, they worked at City of Burbank as Combustion Turbine Manager. Richard then moved to Port Arthur Steam Energy in 2007 as O&M Manager. In 2010, they joined Black Hills Corporation as a Gas Turbine Tech. In 2019, they took on the role of Powerplant Supervisor at City of Unalaska and most recently, in 2022, they began working as Deputy Director of Utilities at Doyon Utilities.
Richard Owen obtained an Associate's degree in Energy Technology from MIAT College of Technology.
