Steve Townsend

Steve Townsend is a seasoned strategic planner with extensive experience in defense planning and doctrine development. Currently serving as a Senior Strategic Planner at Booz Allen Hamilton since December 2015, Steve leads in strategic and adaptive planning as a subject matter expert within the Joint Staff, J5, Joint Operational War Plans Division. Previously, Steve was a Senior Strategic Planner at DPRA, contributing to Department of Defense strategy and planning doctrine development. With past roles including Chief of Strategy Doctrine and Concepts Division at HQs US Army and Chief positions in various divisions during assignments in Iraq and Europe, Steve possesses a comprehensive understanding of military strategy. Steve holds a Master of Science in Systems Technology from the Naval Postgraduate School and a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
