Role: Project scheduler
Reports To: Project Manager or Operations Manager
Job Overview: The Project Scheduler is responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring comprehensive project schedules for multiple ongoing projects within a region. This role involves coordinating test plans, ensuring pilot plant and resource availability, and managing other testing devices required for specific customer requirements. The scheduler will work closely with various internal stakeholders, including technology and implementation leaders, to ensure efficient and timely project execution.
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams:
- Work closely with technology leaders, implementation leaders, and commercial representatives to develop a test schedule and logic path aligned with project goals.
- Coordinate between pilot plant availability, construction teams, and equipment resource management to ensure optimal testing and production schedules.
Project Scheduling:
- Develop and manage detailed schedules for test work across multiple sites, including pilot plants and associated resources.
- Monitor resource allocation and ensure the availability of test equipment and other required tools to meet project milestones.
- Establish and maintain clear project timelines, milestones, and dependencies using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
Schedule and Resource Reporting:
- Provide accurate weekly schedule and resource reports, ensuring that test plans, timelines, and project goals are clearly communicated to stakeholders.
- Prepare and distribute daily look-ahead reports for scheduling, enabling teams to anticipate upcoming tasks and requirements.
Data and Schedule Analysis:
- Perform in-depth schedule analysis to ensure that test plans are being followed and all necessary process steps are being applied.
- Regularly review, validate, and enter field-provided schedule status updates.
- Execute “what-if” scenario planning, analyzing potential impacts of schedule changes, and report results to project leadership.
Performance Monitoring:
- Generate and distribute performance and progress reports, process key performance indicators (KPIs), and associated progress curves.
- Provide all necessary schedules to support the development of accurate project estimates, cost forecasts, and resource allocation planning within various project stages.
Project Coordination and Multi-Project Management:
- Manage and coordinate multiple, similar projects within the region, ensuring alignment in timelines, resource sharing, and consistent execution of project plans.
- Proactively identify and resolve scheduling conflicts or bottlenecks between projects, adjusting timelines and resource plans as necessary.
Communication and Stakeholder Management:
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders across all project stages, ensuring alignment of schedules, resource needs, and progress expectations.
- Facilitate regular meetings to discuss schedule updates, test plan milestones, and critical project deadlines.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvement in scheduling practices, reporting, and resource management.
Additional Duties:
- Perform other associated duties as assigned by project leadership, contributing to overall project success.
Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, business administration, or a related field.
Technical Proficiency: Expertise in scheduling software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar tools. Strong command of Excel for data management and reporting.
Project Management Knowledge: Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or Critical Path Method (CPM).
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface with multiple teams and stakeholders.
Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Problem Solving: Ability to anticipate scheduling conflicts, perform risk analysis, and develop contingency plans to keep projects on track.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities for schedule analysis, earned value management, and KPI reporting.

- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities for schedule analysis, earned value management, and KPI reporting.
The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
- Experience in Multi-Project Coordination: Previous experience managing and scheduling multiple, concurrent projects, preferably in mining or related industries.
- Industry-Specific Knowledge: Deep understanding of the unique scheduling challenges related to mining processes, particularly lixiviation.
- SAP experience
